President and Chief Executive Officer: Robert L. Schwartz
Mr. Robert L. Schwartz has been in various facets of the hotel industry since 1958, when he was Vice President and General Manager of West Coast Industries, Los Angeles, manufacturers of hotel interiors. In 1966, Mr. Schwartz founded Golden State Industries and became the largest manufacturer of hotel and restaurant interiors on the West Coast, including seating, cabinetry, mill work and sheet metal. After Golden State was sold to Frigatemp, a public company headquartered in New York, Mr. Schwartz founded Hotel Development Consultants. Under that label, he became the hotel consultant to more than twenty cities across the country, special consultant to Holiday Inn Corporation (who used his experience and knowledge to develop an upscale hotel brand), special consultant to Omni Hotels, and United States representative of Grand Metropolitan Hotels (London), Trust Houses Forte (London), Meridian Hotels (Paris).
In 1976, Mr. Schwartz formed Loring Park Associates, a limited partnership, with the Pritzker family of Chicago as its major partner, and developed, built and owned the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Apparel Mart, Minneapolis.
Under the National Ventures label, Mr. Schwartz developed, built and owned The Doubletree Hotel, Tulsa (National Ventures Tulsa), The Marriott Hotel, Provo (National Ventures Provo), The Hilton Hotel, Bridgeport (National Ventures Bridgeport), Pacific Shores Hotel, Santa Monica, now know as Viceroy Santa Monica (National Ventures Santa Monica ), The Sheraton Hotel, Stamford (National Ventures Stamford), among others.
The latest project developed by Mr. Schwartz is The St. Regis Hotel and Residences, Buckhead, Georgia.
